Pegasus Ponies (entering Kindergarten) The Pegasus Ponies program is designed for our youngest campers by early childhood experts. We offer developmentally-appropriate activities that mirror the offerings for our Trotters Program (Grades 1-3): Science centers, Art projects, and Dramatic Play, P.E., and Swimming each day. Outdoor play is worked into each day weather permitting with a fabulous playground, nature hikes, and sandbox all within easy reach of the Ponies indoor space. Lunch is included as well as a light afternoon snack. The environment and schedule are designed to be "kindergartener-friendly" with fewer transitions for kids to make and a smaller staff of dedicated teachers and counselors to lead each small group of Ponies through their entire day. Our campers become well- known and loved by our staff and they strive to make sure that each child has a full and engaging day.
This is summer camp, so our main focus is on campers having fun while they are being actively engaged as learners and building those emerging social skills to get along with other campers. Parents are invited to attend a "Ponies Play Date" which is scheduled for one afternoon during the second week of each session. The Play Date gives your child an opportunity to share a fun activity and show around their world at camp.
Each Session the Ponies Teachers plan activities to connect with the Trotters themes. In additon, the we will often switch themes a few times/session to add variety and generate excitement for our Ponies campers. The main themes this year are: |
| Session A: (June 18-29) Mexico From beautiful beaches and tropical resorts to Mexico's rich ancient history and festive traditions, come join us as we visit our neighbors south of the Border and pick up some Spanish words along the way! |
|
 | Session B: (July 2 -July 13) Magic Camp Mystery and trickery abound in this session that will sure to delight and amaze you. Learn tricks to play on your family and friends. There is magic to be found in the science labs, art studios, and especially on the Pegasus stage. |
|
 | Session C: (July 16-27) Summer Olympics As the world's nations sent their top athletes to London to compete in the Olympics, you will be setting records of your own! Your group will design cool flags, try new challenges, and learn about a variety of sports from countries big and small. |
