Camp Pegasus loves to hear from or many happy customers. Families from all over the region, and indeed the world plan summer activities around the Pegasus program. We are very proud to have many campers who return from year to year. Hear what some of our most recent families told us:

She went thru the entire catalog to look at pictures of all her fellow campers and proceeded to choose all of her Courser activities. This has truly been such a fantastic experience for my children. My oldest (Trotter) boy has loved sharing all the facts he has learned about space and Africa with me the minute he gets into the car each day. It has excited his love of learning, and for that I am so thankful! He has been a little encyclopedia the past few weeks. My second boy has loved the sports and games. Both have been so proud of their work on the plays in Drama and have delighted in showing me all the projects they have made in Art and Theme! The leaders have been respectful, outgoing and very responsible and for that I am even more grateful! I just wanted to commend you on a fantastic summer experience for my boys and I can't wait for my daughter to attend next summer!

One or more of our children have been attending Camp Pegasus for the past five years. Thus, we are in a great position to tell other parents about the Camp. What we can tell parents is that we cannot imagine a better day camp experience. Our children have enjoyed every single day. The strength of Camp Pegasus from the point of view of the parents is their organization, their well-trained, happy, and friendly staff of counselors, their great facilities, and their wide selection of activities. The first thing that a parent will notice when they enter the camp is that it is very well organized. Staff members open the door for your children when they arrive and close the door for your children when they depart. In between those times, the organization is equally well conceived. This will give parents a great sense of security. Next, parents will notice that the counselors genuinely enjoy their work and the campers feed off of this. The camp facilities are first rate as they feature the great infrastructure at MICDS and its plentiful, beautiful, and safe surrounding land. Finally, the parents will appreciate that the camp provides campers with a range of fun opportunities that work both their mind and their body. Now the important part - the camper’s viewpoint. My children simply love going to Camp Pegasus. My first grader enjoys the fast paced and ever changing activities of his camp. He enjoys the swimming, the drama, the crafts, and the “silly” activities as well. My fifth grader really enjoys the camp as well. She really enjoyed her “Trotter” days when she got to enjoy all of the activities. Now she enjoys her days as a “Courser” where she picks her activities. In the most recent session, in one day, she scored her first field hockey goal, dissected a frog, and made cheesecake! We love the fact that she is doing all of those activities and enjoying them - and the “miss no details” organization of Camp Pegasus provides us with complete confidence that she thoroughly washed her hands between the frog dissection activity and the cheesecake preparation.

My wife and I have always sought quality summer care for our son and daughter. Of course, above all, their safety is priority one. Yet many excellent area camps can and do satisfy that basic requirement. To us, what sets a quality program apart from the others is an ability to keep alive the learning mode that they are in at the end of the school year. The Pegasus counselors and agenda had kept the desire to learn alive and nurtured, where many camps simply allow it to wither during the summer months. I am confident my children will transition smoothly into the upcoming school year because Camp Pegasus has kept their minds sharp and eager with its well-balanced blend of activities. The children are learning without realizing it, and that is success by anyone’s measurement. And while toys and games and fun are the product so many camps/day care providers try to market to parents, many fail to realize that they are also selling an intangible but very real product to parents – “peace-of-mind." Most parents who utilize all-day camps want to be able to drop their children off and - let’s be honest here – forget about them as they concentrate on their daily work activities. If I have to worry several times a day whether my child is safe or having fun (thereby distracting me from my job), then that camp has failed to sell me “peace-of-mind” and will ultimately lose my business. To that end, the Pegasus Camp and its counselors have excelled in this area, and quite frankly, have raised the bar for all the other camps in the St. Louis area.

My daughter has enjoyed Pegasus so much this year and is very sad to see it come to an end. You are working some kind of magic with her (and the other campers, apparently) that has been so rewarding for her. My husband and I love to hear all the stories about camp, the activities, and of course, the experience of the drama. I also think there must be some kind of chemistry this year among all the kids that has made it so enjoyable. Although the group has changed each session, apparently it has been lots of fun every time! The way Pegasus is organized is brilliant too. The mix of drama with activities, downtime, and a variety of counselors all seem to work well for my daughter, and I imagine for other kids too. I admire the teachers and counselors who work at Pegasus so much. Every year the counselors have been an important part of the overall experience. They all seem to enjoy their jobs and are great role models. Our daughter would like to become a Pegasus counselor and is disappointed that she'll have to wait until 10th grade to become a Counselor in Training. Pegasus was where my daughter first learned to swim the summer before kindergarten. We love that there is an indoor pool, so she never has to give up a day's swimming because of a summer drizzle. Your swimming program is really wonderful. My son loved Tech Trek this summer. He thought the tech program was interesting and challenging - this was even after he had attended a one-week "ID Tech Camp" at Wash. U. where he learned programming.

My son attended summer programs at other facilities but never found one that is as enjoyable as Pegasus. In fact, every afternoon when I picked him up from Pegasus, he gave me a "thumbs up" sign indicating how much fun he had that day! He took pride in his drama acts and I noticed how he has transformed from a shy kid to a self-confident child just by spending his days at Pegasus.

I knew my kids loved camp...but I did not realize how much until we were pulling out of the parking lot after the last day of session C and the 9 year old said "I miss Pegasus already Mom!" And then the two 7 year olds said "me too"!!! There were even a few tears in those eyes!!!! I asked if that meant they wanted to go back next year they all screamed YES!!!

My children, have had a fantastic two weeks at Pegasus. Both were tearful this morning when they realized it was their last day. We are particularly grateful to their counselors, Jaquelyn and Kirby. The children started Pegasus only two days after flying in from England and we appreciated the extra attention and care they were given. We will definitely be back next year!...I was thrilled, as a former counselor (88 & 89), to see that Pegasus still offered children the same kinds of wonderful experiences it did twenty years ago!
