2013 Eliot Scholars Deadline is January 18

Again this year MICDS will offer a limited number of merit scholarships to students entering grades 7 and 9 through the Eliot Scholars Program. The awards recognize outstanding academic performance and personal achievement and are offered to currently enrolled students as well as new students entering MICDS in the fall of 2013.

The awards are named in honor of William Greenleaf Eliot, founder of both Mary Institute (later MICDS) and Washington University in St. Louis.

Eliot Scholars receive an annual award of $5,000 to be applied toward the cost of tuition at MICDS. The scholarship is renewable each year as long as the student remains at MICDS and maintains strong academic and honorable standing. The Eliot Scholarship recognizes academic achievements. It is not awarded for special artistic or athletic talents.

Eliot Scholars engage in special programs and are recognized for their achievements throughout the school year. Candidates need to complete all requirements for the award, including the Eliot Scholar test and a personal interview.

The deadline to submit a 2013 application is January 18, 2013. All applicants must take the Eliot Scholar test on Saturday, January 26, 2013, beginning at 8:30 a.m. at MICDS.

All current 6th and 8th grade families will be receiving information about the 2013 program by mail. For more information, contact the Admission Office at 314-995-7367 or click HERE.
