Our Approach
We recognize that technology provides unparalleled opportunity to integrate and enhance the 21st century classroom.

At MICDS, students at all grade levels use technology tools as part of the learning experience.  Grades JK through 4 utilize the Macintosh platform.  Grades 5 through 12 utilize the best of both the PC and the MAC.  Beginning in Grade 7, students receive their own tablet PC computer, and make extensive use of computers  to collaborate, communicate, and create learning content.  Teachers use a wide array of educational applications and technology tools to support instruction, differentiate in the classroom, and ensure that learning includes two way communication.

MICDS classrooms are equipped with state of the art audio visual systems and integrated SmartBoards.  The campus is fully wireless with a modern WIFI network allowing both in-classroom and spontaneous use of technology resources.

At MICDS, Technology is:

Deepening Engagement.
An innovative approach to technology demands that it serve the curriculum. Our coordinators of instructional technology are experts at applied technologies, and work closely with faculty to achieve integration in their daily classroom activities.
Differentiating Instruction. Our learning environment includes ubiquitous access to a diverse collection of technologies that are flexible and adaptable to each student’s learning style.
Maximizing collaboration. The availability and use of technology supports and expands collaborative teaching and learning within our school, across our community, and globally.  The use of digital resources combined with tradtional teacher-student engagement, help create the ideal learning environment.
