Spotlight on Innovation
The MICDS Classroom
The MICDS One-to-One Program
Launched in August 2008, the School's one-to-one program is continually expanding the possibilities of learning. Tablet style PC computers are issued to both faculty and students beginning in Grade 7.  Tied to MICDS' robust wireless network, these mobile computers enhance the range of instructional strategies available to faculty, while providing students with easy access to a wide range of instructional tools and information resources.  Students access, process, and present that information in ever more innovative, efficient and effective ways.

The one-to-one program also extends learning outside the classroom by providing students with 24/7 access to school resources, online exercises, and the global internet community.

One-to-one enhances MICDS' ability to maximize our students' learning potential and expand their horizons. The school issued Tablet PC, under a strict configuration management process, ensures that every student has access to the same robust set of productivity andd educational software applications. The Tablet PC has all the functionality of a traditional laptop but allows users to draw, write, and manipulate the computer using a stylus or multi-touch as well as a mouse. Interacting with the computer in multiple ways accommodates the varying needs and preferences of students and faculty, and uniquely enhances the MICDS classroom collaboration experience.
