After-School Activities Cancelled Due to Severe Weather

With strong storms in the forecast this afternoon, MICDS is canceling all after-school activities today, May 8. This includes all extracurricular activities and athletic practices and games, both at home and away. The Middle School ASAP program and Lower School Extended Day program are also canceled. Please make arrangements to pick up your children at our usual dismissal time today (3 p.m. for Lower School, 3:15 p.m. for Middle and Upper School). Campus will be closed at 4:00 p.m. Please note: the Band Concert scheduled for this evening will be rescheduled for tomorrow night, Thursday, May 9, with the 6th/7th Grade Band Concert beginning at 6 p.m. and the 8th Grade/Upper School Bands performing at 7:30 p.m. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Bernard Berry.

Anna Speller ’20 Wins 1st in Vault at Junior Olympic Western Gymnastics Championships

Congratulations to Anna Speller ’20, who completed a successful Level 9 gymnastics season with a win on vault at the 2015 Level 9 Westerns Championships. Anna competes for Team Central Gymnastics in Maryland Heights. Her season also included 1st on bars and beam at the Region 4 Championships in April and 1st on beam, floor and all-around at the Missouri State Championships in March. Additional season highlights include a career high 9.625 on vault at Westerns and a season high 9.7 on beam at State.

The 2015 Women’s Junior Olympic Level 9 Eastern and Western Championships were held May 8-10. The Level 9 Eastern and Western Championships are the culmination of the Junior Olympic Level 9 competitive season, and each features the best 448 Level 9 gymnasts in the respective regions. Both championships feature the top seven gymnasts in the all-around in each age division from the respective regional championships.
