After-School Activities Cancelled Due to Severe Weather

With strong storms in the forecast this afternoon, MICDS is canceling all after-school activities today, May 8. This includes all extracurricular activities and athletic practices and games, both at home and away. The Middle School ASAP program and Lower School Extended Day program are also canceled. Please make arrangements to pick up your children at our usual dismissal time today (3 p.m. for Lower School, 3:15 p.m. for Middle and Upper School). Campus will be closed at 4:00 p.m. Please note: the Band Concert scheduled for this evening will be rescheduled for tomorrow night, Thursday, May 9, with the 6th/7th Grade Band Concert beginning at 6 p.m. and the 8th Grade/Upper School Bands performing at 7:30 p.m. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Bernard Berry.

Senior Featured on Humans of St. Louis

Right before the general election, MICDS senior Henry Coen ’21 was featured in several posts on Humans of St. Louis. «Just because I can’t vote, doesn’t mean I can’t have opinions and give people facts.» Henry highlights his perspective on getting involved in elections, politics, and what gives him hope for the future.

Rams Finish Boys State Cross Country Championships Strong

Will Falk ’21 and Jackson Strelo ’22 competed Thursday at the State Cross Country Class 3 Championships. Falk placed 24th and medaled with a finish time of 17:14. Strelo placed 47th with a time of 17:54.

Junior Publishes Article as Teen Editor

MICDS junior Noah Kleinlehrer ’22 is a Teen Editor for St. Louis Jewish Light. His article, Pandemic offers a chance to appreciate ‘normal’ school, was published on October 23. In his writing, he reflects on the 1918 Spanish Flu pandemic and contemplates how we’re handling the coronavirus pandemic now. Be sure to read his article here.

Ray Scores Another Individual Title

Julia Ray ’23 is at it again! On Friday at McNair Park in St. Charles, she won the Class 5 District 3 individual title in just 18:47 as shared on STL High School Sports here. Way to go, Julia!

Sophomore Earns Fellowship with Civics Unplugged

Congratulations to Deren Pellegrini ’23 for earning a fellowship with Civics Unplugged, a selective, national program for Generation Z leaders to build the future of American democracy! «As a first-generation American, I’m keenly aware of the importance of a healthy and thriving democracy,» Deren says. «I’m excited to be selected to this community of youth civic engagement empowered to build the future of American democracy. I’m looking forward to connecting with high school students all over the U.S. and learning how to contribute to efforts to make our social and political systems work better.»

Boys Soccer Earns District Title

The MICDS Boys soccer team knocked out Westminster in the Class 2 District 3 championship game, earning them their first district title! Check out the game recap here. The team will play next Tuesday in the state quarterfinal. Go Rams!
