Student Standouts: Windom ’21 and Girls Basketball in the News

Congratulations to this week’s standouts below. Way to go #RamNation! And as always, if you have a story to share, please email weeklynews@micds.org.

Kendal Windom

Senior is Regional Finalist for Coca-Cola Scholar Foundation

Kendal Windom ’21 is a regional finalist for the Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation. She’s one of 251 regional finalists from almost 100,000 applicants. From the Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation Blog:

Reaching this level distinguishes these students as extraordinary leaders in their school and community. 99,403 applicants and 1,609 Semifinalists participated in our program – to be selected as a Regional Finalist is an outstanding accomplishment.

Regional Finalists will now participate in the next phase of our selection process, a 20-minute interview with our Regional Interview Committee comprised of a Foundation staff member and previous Coca-Cola Scholars Program scholarship recipients.

After these interviews, 150 students will be named Coca-Cola Scholars and receive a $20,000 college scholarship.

Kendal shared, “I am grateful to simply be in consideration for such a scholarship because it is another step towards my dreams. Of course it hasn’t been easy, but as an MICDS student, I feel easy isn’t a word I encounter often!” A huge congratulations to you, Kendal!
