Madigan Kinsey Flying

Senior's Hard Work is Paying Off in the Pool and in the Air

Senior Madigan Kinsey ’21 is featured in West Newsmagazine for her many successes academically, athletically, and even as a pilot! Kinsey is the two-time captain of the Girls Swimming team and has been a club swimmer for 12 years. Her academic accolades include being a National Merit Semifinalist, scoring a perfect 36 on the ACT, and being an AP Scholar with honors (having scored 5s on the AP Physics and AP BC Calculus exams). She also has her pilot’s license and can conduct solo flights.

As she looks forward to her next chapter after graduating from MICDS, she plans to study aerospace engineering in college. The article quotes her stating, «My dream is to be a test pilot (astronaut) and pilot us to Mars.» Currently, she’s been accepted to West Point, the Air Force Academy, and the University of Arizona Honors College. She’s also been awarded a Type 1 Air Force ROTC scholarship, which is the top four-year scholarship given.

In the air, in the pool, and in the classroom, we can’t wait to see what takes flight for Kinsey next!
