Will Falk '21

Rising to the Ranks of Eagle Scout

Will Falk ’21 has just earned his Eagle Scout distinction, the highest rank available in Boy Scouts of America, attained by just 4% of Scouts. In order to achieve the rank of Eagle, Will had to earn at least 21 merit badges and show leadership by planning, developing, and completing a community service project. For his project, Will led his troop in revitalizing a community garden in University City. Way to go, Will!

Faculty Feature: Legendary Coach Bouchard Makes a Lasting Impact

Head Football Coach Dr. Fred Bouchard is mentioned in an episode of Ray County Voices, a podcast series co-produced by the Richmond News. The episode features an interview with Nick Persell, Richmond’s head coach and an assistant of Coach Bouchard’s for six years when he was at Staley High School. Coach Persell was selected by Richmond News and Excelsior Springs Standard readers for the Community Service Award for Best Coach. Tune in at 18:21 to hear Persell reflect on the impact Coach Bouchard has made with him and his student-athletes. Persell highlights the character lesson work, the importance of relationships, and trust-building work demonstrated to him by Coach Bouchard. From our Head Football Coach, Persell learned that football coaching is more about building men than football players.
