Senior Signs on Early College Signing Day

Congratulations to senior Crawford Bundy ’21 who has officially signed his letter of intent to play lacrosse and study at Georgetown University! He signed his paperwork last Friday.

Soccer Midfielder Hayden Fischer '21 Highlighted Before State Championship

MICDS boys soccer midfielder Hayden Fischer ’21 is highlighted in this STL High School Sports article. Read about Hayden’s four-year MICDS soccer contributions and about his soccer family. How exciting it is that a State championship for the Rams is one victory away with tomorrow’s competition. Way to go, Hayden!

Junior Lee Naber '22 Makes Splash at State Swimming Meet

Lee Naber ’22 is featured on STL High School Sports for his Class 1 Boys Swimming State Meet contributions. Naber won the 200-yard freestyle, the 100 backstroke, and he swam on the winning 200 medley relay and the runner-up 400 freestyle relay. In all races, he broke school records. Oustanding job, Lee!

Fourth Grader Wins Missouri Music Teachers Association Audition

Evan G. ’29 has been declared the winner of the 2020 Missouri Music Teachers Association (MMTA) audition – Piano 4A state-level competition. This year, the competition was held virtually. He was the winner of last year’s Piano 3B competition of this same event held in Springfield, Missouri. Evan is also this year’s North Central regional gold medal recipient of The Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) piano level 4 practical exam, earning the highest mark of the region covering Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, and Wisconsin. He has also been invited to perform at the virtual Celebrations of Excellence recital in December, which in normal years, is held at the Chicago Symphony Center.

Rams Football Advances to the State Quarterfinals & Head Coach Interview

The Rams Football team won 42-6 over St. Dominic in the Class 4 District 3 football championship on Saturday! The game started with an impressive kickoff return for a score by Steven Hall ’22 and the Crusaders could not catch up. Read the full recap by STL Today here. Check out the interview below with Head Coach Dr. Fred Bouchard by KHQA. Bouchard comments about coming out of retirement, his NEMO glory days, and the upcoming competition against Hannibal which the Rams will play at 1 p.m. on Saturday, November 21 in the state quarterfinals. Go Rams!

A Semifinal Victory for Boys Soccer Earns Spot at State

Hooray for the MICDS Boys Soccer team for defeating Pleasant Hill 4-0 in the Class 3 state semifinal on Saturday! This was the first time that either team appeared in a state semifinal round. Goals were scored by Hayden Fischer ’21, Eric Nohara-Leclair ’22, Walter Ralph ’21, and Novo Onovwerosuoke ’22.

The team will take on Orchard Farm on Saturday, November 21, at noon at the Lake Country Soccer Complex in Springfield for a shot at their first state championship in program history! Way to go, Rams! View the semifinal recap on STL High School Sports here.

Watch this KSDK segment to see how the Boys Soccer team has been conquering challenges all season and has been more motivated than ever after three straight years of falling short at district playoffs and the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic. While looking ahead to the upcoming state championship game, Head Coach Jack Fischer reminds the Rams to “Be in the moment, appreciate the moment, appreciate the opportunity. You have a chance to do something special that hasn’t been done at this school.” Let’s go Rams!

Boys Swimming Earns 2nd at State

A big CONGRATULATIONS to our MICDS Boys Swimming team for earning 2nd place in the Class 1 swimming championships on Saturday. This achievement marked their best State finish since 1993! Some highlights include:
 
  • Lee Naber ’22 earning four medals and two new school records.
  • Eric Ji ’21 earned two 2nd place finishes
  • Naber, Ji, Greg Dreisewerd ’21, and Ryan Mauney ’21 earned 1st in the 200-yard medley relay
