Senior Attends Economics for Leaders Program

Congratulations to Annalisa Goot ’21 who was selected to attend the Economics for Leaders program this past summer. This week-long educational program helps about 30 high school students from around the world “gain a better understanding of how to integrate economics into decision-making…students explore the correlation between economics and leadership through challenging activities and simulations.”

As part of the program, Annalisa received a certificate of distinction for participation in this program.

Equestrians Compete at Baskin Farm Fall Academy Show

This past weekend, equestrians Nora Lurk ’32 and Vivien Lurk ’34 competed in the Baskin Farm Fall Academy Show. Nora placed 1st in Ground Poles and 3rd in Equitation. Vivien placed 1st in the Lead Line – Walk/Whoa Class! Additionally, they showed in the costume contest as Bee’s while their pony, Bambino, was a sunflower. Way to go, equestrians!

Rams Football Victory Over Burroughs & Inspirational Football Alum Video

On Saturday, the MICDS football team finally got the chance to take on rival John Burroughs as part of the Metro League contest. Our Rams defeated the Bombers 42-6, which marked new Football Head Coach Fred Bouchard’s first victory against JBS while leading the MICDS team. This match was also the 95th consecutive year that this contest has taken place.

Before heading into the heralded rivalry, Assistant Football Coach Kevin Collier gathered words of encouragement from football alumni that were shared with the current football team. What a storied history this match has been since 1925, and what a special way to get the team pumped up! Watch the video below!

Girls Tennis Earns 3rd Place at State

At last Saturday’s Class 2 State tournament, the MICDS Girls Tennis team earned 3rd place. Congratulations, Rams!
