Seniors Up the Chill Factor on Senior Chill Day

Monday marked a day that the senior class looks forward to every year: Senior Chill Day! All throughout the Upper School campus, our 12th graders could be found hanging out with their friends while wearing comfy, plaid, MICDS pajama pants and School sweatshirts. This highly-anticipated day celebrates the huge milestone of completing college applications.

Thanks to the generosity of the parents and guardians of our Class of 2022 students, seniors enjoyed a variety of delicious food and beverages. For breakfast, students were offered bagels, a Greek yogurt bar with berries, English muffin breakfast sandwiches, pretzels, and more. In the afternoon, they enjoyed pizza, salad, and other treats. There were also snacks available all day along with a coffee bar filled with fun drink selections:

  • The Mocha Madness
  • The Peppermint Patty
  • The Stress Reliever
  • Hot Chocolate

Throughout the Upper School gym and Steward Family Aquatic Center lobbies, tables were adorned with blank linens and red, white, and green balloons. They also had stress balls and taffy sprinkled as centerpieces. A balloon arch decorated the coffee bar where parents served the students their specialty drinks.

In addition to the students and parents in attendance, all were delighted to see a DuoDog make an appearance. The DuoDogs organization provides skilled service dogs to those with disabilities and therapy teams in the community. Students paused to pet the dog on their special day.

“It was extremely enjoyable to participate in Senior Chill Day and to share this special moment with my beloved seniors, the Class of 2022,“ reflected Upper School Dean of Students for the Class of 2022 Daniel George. „However, none of this would be possible without the fantastic organization and positive attitudes of our amazing senior parent reps and particularly our two parent volunteer organizers, Joanna Tschudy and Rachel Oliver.”

What a great day it was on Monday to be a senior! Congratulations to the seniors for completing their applications for college!
