Fourth Graders‘ Menus to be Served in Lower School Cafeteria

Last semester, I had the pleasure of guest speaking in Ms. Moore’s class of fourth graders. I taught the students about nutrition and the importance of creating a balanced plate including fruits, vegetables, carbohydrates, and protein. Together, we brainstormed a list of various foods in the different food groups to put on our plate. The kids were very attentive and asked great, discussion-provoking questions. At the end of the lesson, they had the opportunity to work in groups and create their own balanced lunch menu to be served at Beasley. I’m excited to announce that the kids’ menus will be served in the lower school every Friday, throughout February, March, and April. The menus will feature the creators’ names and are posted on our school dining site (linked below) as well as on the menu board in the lunch room. We encourage parents to ask their kids about the menu they created and to talk about what they learned about nutrition. If you have any questions or feedback, please contact myself or leave us a comment on our school dining site.

We look forward to serving the special menus!
