Senior to Serve as Missouri's Delegate for National Youth Science Camp
Landis Bingham ’21 has been selected as Missouri’s delegate for the 2021 Virtual National Youth Science Camp! This summer program offers educational forums and recreational activities, encouraging the development of thoughtful scientific leadership. Upon this accomplishment, Landis shares, « I am very honored and excited to be Missouri’s delegate for the National Youth Science Camp. The reason that I decided to apply for this summer program was to further my involvement in the science field and to expose me to potential career paths (physical, natural, and computer sciences). The program affords me the ability to hear and work with presenters who are at the top of their fields. It also allows me to explore things I am interested in and interact with other students and faculty who have the same passion for learning. The application process consisted of answering a few short answer questions which included why I felt that science was important and why I am interested in science. » Way to go, Landis!
Eighth Grader Selected for U.S. Soccer’s U-16 Women’s National Team Virtual Meetings
Congratulations to Caroline Birkel ’25 for being selected to the U.S. Soccer’s U-16 Women’s National Team Virtual Meetings! Caroline is a goalkeeper for the 2006 age group St. Louis Scott Gallagher’s Elite Clubs National League team. She shares, « This accomplishment means a lot to me especially since soccer is something I’ve been doing all my life. I’m extremely grateful to be invited to such a high-level event which gives me a unique opportunity to train with girls from all over the country. I can’t wait to get on the field and hopefully continue to reach my goals for the future! »
Should an in-person camp take place, Caroline has the opportunity to be selected for the U-16 women’s national team. Making the team would mean she would be able to travel around the world and play against other countries. Way to go, Caroline!
