In the Winter Term class Who Killed Pikachu?, the seventh and eighth graders were trying to figure out the mystery of Pikachu’s death by doing different labs so they could figure out the murder mystery. “I enjoy this class because we get to solve mysteries and do labs,” said Skyler Dastgah-Bradford ’29. The students had to work together completing the labs to figure out different challenges. In one lab, they used baking powder and chemicals to solve one part of the mystery. They also were observing the blood splatters (ketchup and red dye) to see how Pikachu was killed.
Overall, the people in the class really enjoyed Who Killed Pikachu. “There is a lot to learn when it comes to being a detective. Teamwork makes the dream work,” said Spencer Levison ’28. The class involved Chemistry, Biology, and Physics. “I love this class because it involves a lot of different types of science; we get to do different labs, and the kids love it,” said Seventh Grade Science Teacher Michelle Bouchard. The participants really enjoyed Who Killed Pikachu and would definitely take this class again.
