Write About Now: The Impact of Students’ Words

The Write About Now course in the Upper School Winter Term curriculum attracted five students interested in exploring their own thoughts and ideas, and how words carry power. Under the careful guidance of Celeste Prince, Upper School English Teacher, they focused on the stages of the writing process, experimented with several genres, and crafted a variety of pieces.

The course provided space, time, and community to create and tell stories while reading published work by contemporary authors, experimenting with form and genre, and workshopping drafts with peers. By the end, these student authors published an anthology of their hard work. They also collaborated to create a beautiful cover.

“Creative writing is not for the weak,” says Prince in her opening letter. “I applaud the tenacity and courage of these five students as they let their ideas run wild.”

And without further ado, we proudly present the Write About Now anthology, published by Ellie Reardon ’25, Eleanor Cheers ’26, Rose Sabalvaro ’26, Rithvik Bogachenchu ’27, and Eddie Feng ’27. Congratulations on this amazing work of art, writers!
