Class of 2025 Bids Farewell in Final Day Festivities

Seniors in the Class of 2025 ushered in the month of May with a celebration of their last official day of classes. A welcome day of sunshine lifted everyone’s spirits after days of endless rain, and students enjoyed copious amounts of food, games, and special traditions.

Thanks to the dedicated volunteer efforts of our senior parents, the aroma of warm kolaches mingled with the scent of glazed donuts kicked off the breakfast smorgasbord, where crispy items from Chick-fil-A disappeared quickly. A snack from Smoothie King soon followed for the late sleepers and non-breakfast eaters. Then, the taco train rolled in from local restaurant Nachomama’s for a lunch feast.

Laughter and friendly competition between students filled Brauer Hall and outside, while they participated in an assortment of games and activites including cornhole and putting green fun. The Hearth Room buzzed all day, a hub of connection and selfie-taking on this special day where the usual cell phone restrictions were lifted.

Two final highlights of the day included the senior class photo on the front steps of Olson Hall, with students waving their college pennants and beaming smiles of relief at a job well done and the anticipation of new beginnings.

A quick Ted Drewes frozen custard snack fortified the seniors for their traditional campus walkthrough. Laughter and a few happy tears emerged as seniors high-fived Lower, Middle, and Upper School students and faculty, who cheered and offered words of pride and encouragement to the senior class.

Class of 2025 President Taha Syed ’25 led the pack, waving the class flag before the ceremonial pass-off to the Junior Class President Riley Crawford ’26.

The day wrapped with the realization for many seniors that their time at MICDS was coming to an end. With post-season athletic competitions, AP exams, and Commencement still ahead, our seniors are still technically with us, but never again will they stroll through these halls between classes or worry about the dress code. (Until alumni reunion weekend!)

We’ll miss the Class of 2025 dearly, and our doors will always be open for their return, eager to hear the stories of their next chapters!
