Students Shine at 6th Grade Arts Night

On Tuesday, March 5, students showcased their musical and fine arts talents at Sixth Grade Arts Night for their parents and the MICDS community. The 6th Grade Choir performed a set of music around the theme: “The Joy of Singing,” touching genres from the classical and modern eras, Mozart, Broadway and beyond. The 6th Grade Band performed two pieces – Rob Grice’s “Excitation March” and Victor Lopez’s “Danza Africana”.

The audience was left wanting more! Fortunately, the Middle School Spring Band Concert is just around the corner on April 16, and the Vocal Concert is on May 6 and 7.

Middle and Upper School Instrumental Music Instructor Josh Baumgartner said, “I’m so proud of all of the work that the 6th grade has put into their arts this year. The band performance was fun, exciting, and full of energy. Come see more on April 16!”

Student artwork from the first two trimesters of Fine Arts was – and still is – on display throughout the Middle School hallways.
Thank you to our 6th grade visual and performing artists for their hard work and talents!
