This week, four MICDS seniors signed early letters of intent to join collegiate-level football and track programs. The early signing ceremony follows one held on November 12 and precedes a larger event in February that will include additional student-athletes committing to college athletics.
Varsity Football Coach Matt Irvin said, “We’re excited that these students have outstanding opportunities to continue their athletic and academic careers at institutions that are aligned with ours in terms of expectations for academic and athletic excellence. We look forward to them continuing to carry the athletic banner into those new settings, as many student-athletes here at MICDS have done before. We’re thrilled for them and their families, and the opportunities these educational institutions provide to continue doing the challenging work is no surprise. We’re grateful that others see the same promise in these students that we do.”
Director of Athletics Josh Smith said, “What a wonderful morning. Having four student-athletes from the class of 2026 signing on day one of the early signing period for football is amazing. They have put in a tremendous amount of work to get here, and it is great to see it pay off for them.”
Congratulations to the Rams who participated in this week’s early signing opportunity:
- Miles Coleman ’26 – Football, United States Military Academy (Army West Point)
- Ben Petersen ’26 – Football, Northern Illinois University
- Henry Rohan ’26 – Football & Track, United States Military Academy (Army West Point)
- Gabe Weaver ’26 – Football, University of Minnesota
Way to go, Rams! We’re proud of your hard work and dedication.
