It is MICDS tradition to honor our milestone years of service employees at our final All-School Assembly of the year, and this year everyone rocked out in the McDonnell Athletic Center (MAC) to celebrate these dedicated faculty and staff members.
After the Upper School Choir sang the MICDS Alma Mater, Head of School Jay Rainey announced each person and showed their photo on the screen. With each segment (10, 15, 20, 25, 30, and 35 years), he played snippets of three pop songs from the year those employees began work at MICDS, challenging the crowd to guess which was the top song. Students sang along, and more than a few Lower Schoolers popped up and danced, even to classics such as the Macarena! Cheers went up for beloved teachers from all three divisions in addition to those for our hardworking (and often unseen) staff members from Athletics, Technology, Facilities, Grounds, Maintenance, and Housekeeping. It was quite a community celebration!
