Three Sibling Rams are Performing in "Matilda: The Musical" this Weekend
Rosie ’30, Marisol ’32, and Samuel Rios-Kelley ’34 are all performing in Matilda: The Musical at Alpha Players in Florissant. Rosario is playing Hortensia, Marisol is playing Alice, and Samuel is Nigel.
Here’s a bit about the plotline: Matilda is a little girl with astonishing wit, intelligence, and psychokinetic powers. She’s unloved by her cruel parents but impresses her schoolteacher, Miss Honey. During her first term at school, the two forge a bond as Miss Honey begins to recognize and appreciate Matilda’s extraordinary personality. However, Matilda’s school life isn’t completely smooth sailing. The school’s mean headmistress, Miss Trunchbull, hates children and loves to punish those who don’t abide by her rules, but Matilda has courage and cleverness in equal amounts and could be her fellow students’ saving grace!
One weekend of performances is already complete, but you can still cheer on the Rios-Kelleys as part of the audience this weekend at their three shows on Friday and Saturday, May 22 and 23, at 7:30 p.m. and on Sunday, May 24, at 2:00 p.m. Tickets can be purchased here.
Break a leg, Rosario, Marisol, and Samuel!
