Club Fest 2026 Invites Students to Get More Involved Than Ever

Eager to try something new? Meet new people? Have fun? There’s a club for that! Club Fest 2026 was held in the MICDS Upper School on Friday, August 21 where students had the opportunity to sign up for 74 different clubs. “Club leaders create a party atmosphere in order to celebrate the start of the new school year and to create a welcoming environment for prospective club members” says Nicole Trueman-Shaw, Director of Upper School Student Leadership & Dean of Students. The diverse, motivated, and enthusiastic student body of the MICDS Upper School offered a wide variety of clubs to choose from, including student government, personal interest, affinity groups, academic teams, and service clubs.

Clubs are a great way to foster relationships based on common interests across grade levels” says Mrs. Trueman-Shaw. “Our tagline this year was ‘Find Your People.’” High school can be challenging, but, as Mrs. Trueman-Shaw says “when you have ‘your people’ around you, it makes the experience so much better.” MICDS clubs are an excellent way for students to grow as people while growing closer together as classmates. While clubs do have a faculty or staff member as a moderator, the club experience is led by students and driven by student participation. Through clubs, students have the ability to practice authentic leadership (the highs, the lows, and everything in-between) by creating inclusive spaces, fostering passion, and creating a sense of belonging on campus” Mrs. Trueman-Shaw says.

MICDS is a special place thanks to the energetic passion and outpouring of support that students show for each other and our school. Way to go Rams!
