May Day Postponement to Sunday

May Day Postponed to 5/4

In view of the latest forecasts predicting a higher probability of inclement weather tomorrow than the day after, MICDS is postponing this year’s May Day ceremony to Sunday, May 4. We will communicate with you again no later than 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 3, to share further information about the time and plan for Sunday afternoon's ceremony. We value the May Day tradition at MICDS and regret the uncertainty of this weekend’s weather and any inconvenience it may cause. We appreciate your understanding as we make every effort to hold the ceremony under safe and enjoyable conditions.

Squash Tournament Supports Food Bank

This year’s “Tins for Wins” Winter Squash Tournament was another success! 70 players came out to the Hermann Squash Center and together contributed more than 300 canned goods for the St. Louis Area Foodbank.

Two individuals made the courts shine especially brightly this year—David Doherty, winner of the Red Division, and Eli Paul `20, winner of the Green Division. Recognition is also due to Robert Baisch ’18, runner-up in the Red Division, and Connie Gonzalez Navarrine ’18, runner-up in the Green Division (and last year’s winner), for their hard-fought battles.

Several alumni also made it out to play, including Anjola Akande ’13, Casey Jones ’16, David Jones ’15, Patrick Keeley ’16, and Drew Lilly ’16 (father of Julie Lilly ’86 and grandfather of Drew Lilly ’16), Faculty also made a turn-out, and several MICDS parents offered flavorful refreshments.

Coaches Brennan, Clarke, Doherty, and Williams look forward to seeing everyone on the squash courts in 2018.
