Katie O'Hara being carried to MICDS pond

First Senior Accepted into College is Tossed in Polk Pond

A long standing tradition at MICDS was restarted this year – the annual pond dunking of the first MICDS senior accepted into college. Katie O’Hara ’18 was accepted into University of Kansas and therefore became the lucky senior to take the plunge. She was carried from Brauer Auditorium by her classmates and paraded down to the dock of the newly established Polk Pond. Upper School students watched with glee as O’Hara was then tossed into the pond.

The tradition was put on hold last year as construction of the new facilities forced a brief closing of the pond, and seniors were thrilled to have the new Polk Pond to continue the annual dunking.
