19 French Exchange Students Visit MICDS

Bienvenue étudiants français! This week, we’ve been hosting 19 exchange students and their two teacher chaperones from our sister school in France, Institution Sainte-Marie-Caen. They arrived on Sunday, October 6 and will depart the morning of Tuesday, October 15. In turn, our students will be spending spring break with them in France.

Each student is paired with an Upper School buddy and attended classes with them on Tuesday and Thursday. Their teacher chaperones, Anne-Cécile and Marc, also visited classes.

With still some visiting to go, the French exchange students have already hit the St. Louis Arch, the Zoo, City Museum, and Mastermind Room Escape (all four teams escaped!), and they’ve participated in Friday’s Fête de la Gastronomie in French class. This weekend, they have the option of attending the Upper School play and athletics competitions, and they’ll engage in plans that their host families have made. On their last full day here, they’ll visit the Middle School and close out the trip with a farewell dinner along with their host families.

We are thrilled to have the French exchange students here as our own students become global learners, striving to embrace all the world’s people with compassion. We hope they are enjoying their visit as much as we are!
