Parents

At MICDS, parents play a crucial role in the life of our School. With such a welcoming, diverse MICDS parent community, transparent communications, and the vast array of opportunities for getting involved, all parents and guardians are encouraged to be active partners in their child’s education through our School’s vibrant Parent-School Partnership.

A welcome from the PA President.

Dear MICDS Families,

On behalf of the MICDS Parents Association (PA), it is my absolute pleasure to extend a warm welcome to all of our new and returning families. We are especially thrilled to experience this school year under the leadership of our new Head of School, Chelle Wabrek. Together with our dedicated community, we look forward to making this another fantastic and memorable year at MICDS. I hope you take the time to explore the MICDS web page and learn more about the amazing resources our community has to offer, both to your student and you alike.

As an MICDS family, you are already an essential part of the PA. Every parent and guardian with a currently enrolled student is automatically a member of the Parents Association. Our primary goal is to build a strong, collaborative partnership between our wonderful teachers, staff, and families. Your unique voice and active participation are truly vital to making that happen.

We have an incredible lineup of PA-sponsored traditions and events planned for this year, and we welcome you to join us whenever you are able. To keep you connected and informed, we will be hosting four main Parents Association meetings this year:

  • Friday, August 28, 7:30 a.m. – Fall Coffee & PA Committee Fair with Guest Speaker HOS Chelle Wabrek
  • Friday, December 4, 11:30 a.m. – Holiday Luncheon
  • Friday, February 19, 7:30 a.m. – Winter Coffee
  • Friday, April 23, 11:30 a.m. – Spring Luncheon

So, whether you choose to join us for an all-school event, attend a grade-level parent coffee, or support a committee, your presence makes a meaningful difference. My hope is that you will find something that excites you about the PA and that you always, always, feel comfortable reaching out and saying, “Hi.” I would love the opportunity to connect.

Sincerely,

Meghan Trilling P’26, ’28
