For the MICDS Girls Varsity Soccer Team, a culture of competition and team spirit would be necessary for success. Captains Delaney Schultz ’18, Berkeley Bearden ’18 and Izzy Critchfield-Jain ’18 rose to the occasion, creating that atmosphere and leading the team to another winning record. Schultz (16 goals, 13 assists) and Naomi Ferguson ’20 (22 goals, 9 assists) paced the team’s dynamic attack while Bearden and Lindsay Parks ’18 anchored the defense.
The Rams played several of the top teams in the area and held their own during a very difficult schedule, finishing with a 10-9 record. Season highlights include victories over Kirkwood, John Burroughs, Clayton and Parkway Central. Unfortunately, the season came to an end in a hard-fought District match. The soccer program is deeply thankful to the contributions of this graduating class. Not only were they critical for the playoff run last year, but they have also made an incredible impact during their careers.
