World Language Choice

In eighth grade, students select a World Language to study from four possible choices: French, Latin, Mandarin, and Spanish. The criteria for being placed in a language include the following: time and order of registration, statement of interest, and previous experience. Due to staffing and class size limitations, sometimes we are required to enroll students in their second or third choices. We ask that you please rank your choices.

Math Placement

For incoming 8th-grade students, there are also two possible placements: 8th Grade Mathematics or 8th Grade Mathematics Accelerated. Placement is made based on student’s exposure to certain math topics in their 7th-grade courses as well as performance on the placement test and standardized tests.

New 8th-grade students are required to take a mathematics placement test to help in determining the best math course for the next school year.
