2024 Parents Association Spring Luncheon Brings “Pop of Pink” Cheer

By Lindsey Brunt P’32, ’35 and Katie Spencer P’26, Co-Chairs of PA Spring Luncheon

The Parents Association (PA) held their annual Spring Luncheon last Friday in Olson Hall with a “pop of pink”-themed lunch! The parents and guardians connected with one another, built community, and fostered friendships. A delicious lunch included salad, sandwiches, crudites, seafood, freshly baked pink cupcakes and pink cookies, and made-from-scratch pink lemonade to match the theme. It was truly a wonderful start to the spring season!

This year, we were fortunate to have as our guest speaker Josh Smith, Athletic Director. He spoke all about the athletic program and how it spans across JK-12 to support our students and athletes. MICDS offers more than 48 interscholastic teams and all students, JK-12, participate in athletics and experience a thorough grounding in physical education. Mr. Smith also spoke to the strength and conditioning program at MICDS which helps student athletes achieve more and prevent injury. He also shared the exciting news of our tennis facilities being enhanced and showed renderings of what is to come!

Annie Sloane P’20, ’25, our PA President, welcomed everyone and thanked our PA co-chairs and numerous volunteers for organizing a cheerful lunch. She emphasized what a strong and vibrant group the MICDS Parents Association is. Parents and guardians then enjoyed a short slideshow on all aspects of the PA, highlighting what a positive experience it can truly be when parents get involved and partner with the PA. The MICDS PA slate was announced for the upcoming 2024-2025 school year. Thank you to all for serving as Class Chairs, Class Vice Chairs, Committee leaders, and members of the Executive Board. Serving in a leadership position through the Parents Association is a great way to stay connected with your child’s school and meet other parents and guardians.

Thank you for being a part of our parent/guardian community. Find joy in your work and your family this summer break, and we hope you will join us at the annual Fall Coffee to be held in Olson Hall in August 2024!

GO RAMS!
