Danforth collection of Native American artifacts

Third Graders Examine Native American Artifacts

In social studies, 3rd graders are learning about Native Americans within the larger context of states and regions. On Thursday, they visited the St. Louis Art Museum to view the Donald Danforth Jr. Collection. The exhibit features Native American artifacts donated by Carolyn Borders Danforth ’52 and assembled by her late husband Donald Danforth Jr. ’50.

Each student has chosen a state to study, and they will be researching Native Americans past and present that live(d) in their particular region of study. Also, they will work with other students who are studying states within the same region to collaborate during this project.

What a way to bring their lessons to life!
