9th Graders Engage in Leadership Development Work

Could you balance yourself (and 10 of your friends) on a large wooden platform for five seconds? What about moving two wooden planks from one location to another?

These are just a few of the team building challenges our Senior Leadership Group led 9th graders through earlier this week. Grouped by advisory, students worked from station to station until they had mastered every challenge. After completing the activities, seniors led the underclassmen in a discussion about the importance of leadership, teamwork and perseverance.

This isn’t the first time 9th graders have engaged in this sort of work. Students have gathered with their advisory several times already this year to complete similar obstacles that challenge students to lead by taking the initiative to make a positive difference.
