Lower Schoolers engage in activities for Beasley Community Day

Beasley Community Day, a Mix of Creative Service Projects and Choice Time Fun

Lower School students had a lovely surprise going into Thanksgiving break. On Tuesday, our youngest learners engaged in Beasley Community Day – a day of kindness, creativity, friendship and fun. Students were encouraged to take care of each other and others, while building community through a series of special activities throughout the day.

The South Gym was bustling with activity in the morning as Lower School students participated in various service projects with a creative flare. Whether they were making greeting cards for the USO, painting “kindness rocks”, creating a collaborative mural for the Beasley Garden or exploring books on gratitude, the children had so much fun living out the MICDS Mission of “lives of purpose and service”.

The afternoon included “choice time” for kids to pursue their passion – reading books in the library, creating in the open art studio, building with legos, engineering and building in the maker space science room and more.
