Chill Day Celebrates Our Seniors and All the Hard Work They Accomplish

What is there to do when the stress of sending in college applications is finally over? Chill out! On Monday, seniors were treated to “Chill Day,” the annual celebration that encourages them all to relax and catch their breath before final exams begin.

Seniors enjoyed being cozy in their matching pajama pants provided by the Parents Association. More than 30 parents volunteered by decorating the Steward Family Aquatic Center and providing breakfast, lunch, snacks, and games. “The PJ bottoms—and the day—are a wonderful reminder to students to relax and enjoy the company of their classmates,” said Diane Gioia, Upper School Dean of Students and History Teacher.

Students were impressed with how much the day’s events meant to them. The efforts from the parents to make the day special was another reminder to just chill and relax.

For breakfast, seniors were treated to donuts, bagels, Kolaches, and egg sandwiches and for lunch, they chose from a selection of Chick-Fil-A sandwiches, Buffalo Wild Wings, Dominos Pizza, Pasta House Toasted Ravioli, and salad. Custom “Senior Chill Day” sugar cookies were the perfect punctuation for dessert!

Senior Chill Day certainly made an impression. “The day helped seniors build community beyond their advisory and made them feel like the whole senior class was together,” Dean Gioia added.

Well earned, seniors!
