Three-legged race

Closing Out T2 with Chill Day and Life Skills Seminars

The last day of Trimester 2 included an action-packed enrichment period for Upper Schoolers.

For 9th graders, February 14 was declared Freshman Chill Day. Students dined on their meal of choice, toasted ravioli, and dressed in themes with their advisories, participated in Minute to Win It games and trivia.

The Minute to Win It games were a sight to see —activities ranged from three-legged races and water bottle flips to mystery games and a challenge to move an oreo from one’s forehead to their mouth without the use of their hands! The cheering and fun continued at a trivia competition with such categories as gaming, memes, random facts about MICDS and your STUCO reps, and name that tune. Freshman Chill Day even had a sweet but chilly finish, ending the day with Ted Drewes ice cream thanks to the Parents Association.

Meanwhile, sophomores and juniors engaged in a variety of life skills seminars. Each sophomore and junior advisor sponsored a seminar that dealt with a basic life skill such as car safety, public speaking, sewing basics, financial basics, pitching a tent and more. Students attended one or two of these seminars.
