This Month’s #BeatsbyFlik: Broadway
There are few things that connect with one’s passion like food and music. This year, we decided to bring them together in our program, #BeatsbyFlik. Last month’s jazz-themed meal was enjoyed by all generations at MICDS. Kids and adults alike enjoyed listening to smooth jazz while savoring the flavors of classic New Orleans jambalaya. Please join us this month, on Monday, December 12th in the Upper School, Tuesday, December 13th in the Lower School, and/or Thursday, December 15th in the Middle School for a special Broadway-themed lunch in the dining hall. We’re confident that the lively show tunes, New York City skyline scenes, and theater-style fare will bring a smile to everyone’s face.
Our Veggie Revolution program focuses on veggies and introduces recipes and new ways to incorporate seasonal fresh vegetables into our diets. This December, we’re taking carrots, a well-loved vegetable, and showing all the ways it can be used. Be sure to tell your student to grab a sample, as well as a recipe card, for this month’s tasting of Roasted Baby Carrots with Spiced Citrus Yogurt and Carrot Top Pesto.
