GeoBee Finals Test 4th-8th Grade Geographers

The annual MICDS finals for the National Geographic GeoBee took place this week in Mary Eliot Chapel. The GeoBee competition is designed to inspire and reward students’ curiosity about the world. Students in 4th through 8th grades from nearly 10,000 schools across the United States compete for a chance to win college scholarships and to be named the National Geographic GeoBee Champion.

A round of applause goes to Zach Krivonak ’25 for winning the MICDS GeoBee! He is advancing to the next level of competition where he’ll take an online state qualifying test. Depending on the results, he may get an invitation to the state competition in late March. New this year, the winning student signed a commemorative world globe. Each year, a new name will be added to honor the geography greats of MICDS for years to come.

Curious what the winning question and answer were this year?
