Hurricane Florence Bake Sale

Upper School Bake Sale Benefits Hurricane Florence Victims

Aligned with our Mission of living lives of purpose and service, MICDS students wasted no time in springing into action last week to help the victims of Hurricane Florence. The Community Service Committee ran a bake sale fundraiser last Friday in front of the Upper School offices. “Hurricane Florence devastated many families, and the Community Service Committee wanted to help them out as much as possible by doing our part,” shared Community Service Committee member Ria Patil ’22.

Each person on the committee took part in working shifts during their free periods, lunch, collab, before school and after school. Upper School students, faculty and staff brought in many baked goods, which amounted to over $350 raised to help the hurricane’s victims.

Ria went on to say how the bake sale was “a really fun way to raise money, [and] this fundraiser wouldn’t have been possible if it weren’t for the generosity of the MICDS community!” Thank you to everyone who contributed to the bake sale and helped support those affected by the hurricane.
