Lower Schoolers Create Music & Art for Peace

At the end of the last school year, Beasley art students created sunflower artwork in response to the conflict in Ukraine. The sunflower is Ukraine’s national flower and is a symbol of peace. Fourth-grade students took it a step further, read the book Peace Train by Cat Stevens, and were inspired to create “peace” guitars using colors and images to reflect their interpretations of the meaning of peace. Students added a finishing touch by filming a video of themselves singing the Peace Train song and sending wishes of peace to the world. Thank you, Beasley artists, for the joy and peace you bring to our school community and beyond!
