MICDS Receives Prestigious Keystone Award for New STEM Building

In recognition of the School’s recently completed STEM building, MICDS Chief Financial Officer Becky Young attended the AGC (Associated General Contractors) of St. Louis Construction Awards Gala last Thursday at the downtown Renaissance Grand Hotel to accept a prestigious Keystone Award on behalf of the School.

Awarded each year to exemplary regional construction projects over $10 million, the Keystone Award honors construction firms and employees who demonstrate excellence in building facilities that enhance the quality of life in St. Louis. BSI Constructors, the School’s contractor, also received a Keystone Award for demonstrating excellence in providing solutions to the unique obstacles and challenge specific to this project.

Becky Young notes that this Keystone Award is a wonderful tribute to the outstanding partnership between MICDS and BSI that led to the new STEM facility and Center for Community being completed on time and under budget.
“We could not have asked for a better project team to work with. The project team, comprised of BSI, Centerbrook Architects and Planners, Northstar Management Company, and MICDS, collaborated and worked well together during all phases of the project. BSI was involved from the beginning of schematic design and provided budget estimates, constructability analysis, and schedule input.”

“We appreciate the extra efforts that BSI made to ensure the safety of our students, employees, and visitors. BSI also strived and helped to lessen, as much as possible, the inconvenience and disruption a construction project has on a school community.”
