Middle Schoolers Tour the City Learning Religion, Art and History

5th Graders Learn About Music and History on Combined Field Trip

5th graders spent a day on a combined field trip between the Arts and History classes. The first stop on the trip was to The Sheldon for the Science and Sound of Music. Students learned from local musicians how instruments worked and how different sounds are created. Following the program at The Sheldon, students got to spend their lunch time enjoying the beautiful day on Art Hill before they headed into the “Sunken Cities, Egypt’s Lost Worlds” exhibition at the St. Louis Art Museum. St. Louis is the first stop for “Sunken Cities” in North America, and students were led around the exhibition by the docents while soaking in the artifacts uncovered by underwater archaeologists. The exhibition showed students the connection between ancient Egypt and ancient Greece, two civilizations that the 5th graders have learned about this year in history class.

6th Graders Explore World Religions in the St. Louis Area

6th graders spent a day going to different places of worship around the St. Louis Area. Stops included Temple Emanuel for Judaism, The Hindu Temple of Saint Louis for Hinduism, the Islamic Foundation of Saint Louis for Islam, and finally Saint John’s UCC Sanctuary.
