Lower Schoolers were treated to a visit from the Opera Theater of Saint Louis’ “Opera on the GO!” program, which “brings the magic of opera to young people across the St. Louis region, through a series of workshops that culminate in an abridged performance of an opera at area schools.”
Students from 2nd – 4th grade met members of the traveling Opera in the south gym before splitting off into different workshops led by different specialists from the Opera. The workshops taught the students various aspects of music, drama, make-up and movement.
The visit culminated in a performance of Rossini’s “The Barber of Seville.” Watch a small clip of the performance below:
