Remote Learning Day - Tuesday, February 18

Due to inclement weather, MICDS will move to remote learning today, Tuesday, February 18. Middle and Upper School classes will begin at 9:00 a.m., and those students are expected to log in on time and follow their usual late-start class schedule. Links to teacher Zoom pages can be found on their Canvas Announcement pages. Lower School students will use the packet sent home in anticipation of remote learning, and parents should look for an email from their child's teacher. All on-campus activities are canceled, and all parking lots at MICDS will be closed to facilitate snow plows. All Middle School athletic practices and games are also canceled.

Upper School Athletics Activities Canceled - Tuesday, February 18

All Upper School sports practices and events planned for this afternoon/evening are canceled. All coaches have communicated this information to their athletic programs.

Photographer Harry Agress, Jr. M.D. `64 showcased his work in Messing Gallery, interacted with students at a scavenger hunt at the St. Louis Art Museum and shared inspiring remarks at an Upper School assembly this week.

The Messing Gallery Opening Reception kicked things off on Friday, January 19. Photography enthusiasts from the MICDS community perused and admired his work.

On Saturday, MICDS art students and faculty accompanied Dr. Agress to the St. Louis Art Museum for a scavenger hunt prepared by our AP Art History students. The art history students selected 17 works and photographed details of those works. These details were then shared with participants as clues.

During an Upper School assembly on Monday, Dr. Agress shared his story of how he discovered his passion for photography. He encouraged students to embrace curiousity – not only in school but in their everyday lives, now and well into their future. Photography and art students also had the opportunity to dive deeper into his story and craft during class interaction time.

His photography is viewable in Messing Gallery through March 2, 2018. Gallery hours are Monday-Friday 9 am – 4 pm. Be sure to check it out next time you’re on campus! You can also view his work digitally at www.harryagressphotography.com.
