After-School Activities Cancelled Due to Severe Weather

With strong storms in the forecast this afternoon, MICDS is canceling all after-school activities today, May 8. This includes all extracurricular activities and athletic practices and games, both at home and away. The Middle School ASAP program and Lower School Extended Day program are also canceled. Please make arrangements to pick up your children at our usual dismissal time today (3 p.m. for Lower School, 3:15 p.m. for Middle and Upper School). Campus will be closed at 4:00 p.m. Please note: the Band Concert scheduled for this evening will be rescheduled for tomorrow night, Thursday, May 9, with the 6th/7th Grade Band Concert beginning at 6 p.m. and the 8th Grade/Upper School Bands performing at 7:30 p.m. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Bernard Berry.

Student Standout: Ji ’21, Mauney ’22, Donovan ’18

Eric Ji ’21 and Ryan Mauney ’22 had an impressive weekend of swimming competition! Ryan was part of two record breaking swimming relay teams during a three-day swim meet in Edwardsville, Illinois, called Long Course Kick Off, where swimmers from the entire Ozark LSC USA Swimming Region competed. Ryan was part of the 200 freestyle relay that broke the long course record for the entire Ozark Region. Both Ryan and Eric were part of the relay team that broke the record for the long course 200 Medley relay. Eric swam the 50 meter back stroke leg, and Ryan swam the 50 meter freestyle leg.

Alex Donovan ’18 was recently named a 2018 U.S. Presidential Scholar Semifinalist. Including Alex, 11 semifinalists were chosen from Missouri and 630 nationally out of a pool of over 5,100 candidates. Congrats Alex!
