Duchars '20 Makes All-Decade Team

Congratulations to Mia Duchars ’20 and MICDS alumnae Bridget Condie ’16 and Emily Adamson ’15 for making the St. Louis Post-Dispatch Field Hockey All-Decade team! Here is each Mia’s bio as shared by the Post:

A two-time Metro League player of the year, Duchars’ excellent play guided MICDS to three successive Midwest Tournament championship game appearances. She scored 34 goals and added 66 assists in a high school career that involved an invitation to practice with the U.S. Under-17 national team. As a senior captain, she dished out four assists in the semifinal round and was a dominant force in the championship game, guiding the Rams to the 2019 title. She has signed to play for the University of Louisville.

Skye Patton

Patton '23 Does GOOD in the World

Since staying at home became an order due to the COVID-19 pandemic, 9th grader Skye Patton ’23 has been using her time at home to help others. She has started an organization called GOOD. GOOD makes and sells custom t-shirts where 100% of the profits go to Project C.U.R.E. and the Environmental Defense Fund.

« I started GOOD because I wished to help out my community in this time of crisis, » shares Patton. « I ultimately decided to draw, print and sell my own t-shirts with all profits going to charity.

« Project C.U.R.E. provides medical officials with boxes of the most desired supplies to help prevent the virus from spreading and the people affected while the Environmental Defense Fund addresses the most urgent environmental challenges by targeting the issues that affect people around the world like moving to a clean economy, reducing exposure to pollutants and increasing ecosystems resilience. »

Skye also says, « I want to give back to my community, and hopefully, with enough effort, we can make a big difference in many lives! »

Thank you for supporting such important causes, Skye! Learn more about doing GOOD in the world here.
