Junior Earns National Spanish Exam Junior Travel Abroad Scholarship

Congratulations to Reina Banerjee ’27, who is the recipient of the National Spanish Exam Junior Travel Abroad Scholarship this year! “The competition for these scholarships is fierce, and hundreds apply,” shares señora Robin Begley, Upper School Spanish Teacher. Through the scholarship, Reina will travel this summer to Salamanca, Spain with Cursos Internacionales de la Universidad de Salamanca. She will have the opportunity to study the language and culture in Spain from July 18-26, 2026. ¡Felicidades, Reina!

Freshman Accepted into the Founding Forward Debate & Leadership Institute

Maia Grant ’29 was recently accepted into the Founding Forward Debate & Leadership Institute, a selective five-day residential program to be held July 20-24, 2026, on Founding Forward’s campus adjacent to Valley Forge National Historical Park. Students from across the country are chosen to participate in this immersive civic leadership and debate experience. Through this program, Maia will engage in structured debate training, deepen her understanding of constitutional principles and the Bill of Rights, and collaborate with high-achieving peers nationwide. Her selection highlights her commitment to becoming a thoughtful civic leader and to representing MICDS on a national platform. Congratulations, Maia!

Faculty Feature: Mr. Sadicario Demonstrates Bachata Dancing on KMOV

Did you know that Dan Sadicario, MICDS Upper School English Teacher, is an MICDS teacher by day but a Bachata dance instructor by night? Mr. Sadicario made an appearance on KMOV last week, promoting a weekly event that he helps teach in Midtown at The Key STL Burger Bar & Boogie. The Latin dance class, called “Infinite Bachata,” is offered every Thursday at 7:30 p.m. at The Key.
