Skye Patton '23, Haylii Sondrol '22 and Caroline Latta '20 Perform at Nutcracker on Ice

Nutcracker on Ice performs four shows annually at the Webster Groves Ice Arena, and this year three MICDS students – Skye Patton ’23 (Drosselmeyer), Haylii Sondrol ’22 (Ladies’ Maid) and Caroline Letta ’20 (Snow Queen) – were given lead roles after auditioning. More than 180 skaters participated and over 3,500 tickets were sold. In addition, because the students were principal characters, they were given the opportunity to ride on the Santa Float in the downtown St. Louis Thanksgiving day parade. They also were invited to skate on Channel 2 News with Tim Ezell!

Reflecting on her journey with Nutcracker on Ice, Snow Queen Caroline Latta shared, “I’ve been doing Nutcracker on Ice for 10 years now, where I first was barely able to skate out there to now having bigger principal roles, and I can honestly say it’s been amazing to be a part of this production. It’s one of the best weeks of my year because the cast is like a family to me. I think it is so special because it puts a twist on a classic story, and it is so rewarding to see the show come all together!”
