Boys Cross Country Runners to Compete at State

The Boys Cross Country team gave an impressive effort at last week’s District meet. Congratulations to team captains Liam McCarthy ’24 and Wyatt Dickherber ’24 whose top 30 finishes qualified them to represent MICDS in the State meet this weekend in Columbia, Missouri.  Liam rejoined the team after missing several meets due to injury and Wyatt ran a personal record (18:14).
Shil Penilla ’26 ran a strong race under difficult conditions showing his usual great heart and tenacity, and Will Fendler ’26 was just a few seconds off his own personal record in a strong race with an impressive finish. In addition to Wyatt, three other MICDS runners—Heru Bey ’27 (19:13), Alex Bierling ’25 (19:23), and Forest Gong ’27 (19:30)—impressed with their season’s best times in this meet. Alternates Luke McGinness ’26Jacob Daus ’25, and Dylan McDonough ’27 were warmed up and ready to represent the team as well.  What a great way to finish the season!
Good luck to Liam and Wyatt at State!
