Students Chosen to Perform with ACDA Honor Choirs

Five talented MICDS choral students have been selected by audition to perform in Honor Choirs during the American Choral Directors’ Association Southwest Division Conference in Kansas City in March 2016.
Thousands of students from the state of Arkansas, Colorado, Kansas, Missouri, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas auditioned for these choirs. Upper School students Mary Ren Moench ’17, Leila Payer ’17, Hunter Vrabely ’17 and Nia Plump ’17 were chosen for the Mixed Honor Choir, which will be directed by Dr. Pearl Shangkuan, Director of Choral Activities at Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

MICDS 8th grader Arjun Ramakrishnan has been selected by audition to perform with the Men’s Honor Choir. This choir will be directed by internationally acclaimed composer and conductor, Andrea Ramsey, Associate Director of Choral Studies at the University of Colorado in Boulder.
