Students Show Love of MICDS During Spirit Week

The week leading up to Homecoming is always exciting with special events and themed days designed to inspire student spirit and a sense of community.

Beasley students kicked things off with an assembly that featured Upper Schoolers visiting to share their spirit. Cheerleaders led their younger classmates in several Rams chants, and then other students led a couple of rounds of the old Codasco rally song, Hear the Crash, See the Flash.

Each day this week, students were encouraged to come to school dressed according to a different theme.

Monday was Missouri or St. Louis Day, and students wore a variety of shirts that showed their love for the St. Louis Cardinals, the Stanley Cup Champion Blues and the Missouri Tigers.

Tuesday was Homecoming T-Shirt Day, and it was wonderful to see the entire school community decked out in a wonderful shirt designed by our own Ava Mandoli ’21 who created the design in art class last year.

We went Western on Wednesday, with lots of students (and even some parents!) sporting cowboy boots and hats. There was also plenty of plaid on campus that day.

Throwback Thursday resulted in a mish-mash of 70s, 80s and 90s apparel and students asking their parents, “What did you wear when you were in school?”

Friday, of course, was our traditional Red & Green Day. MICDS is the only place where red and green go together all year round, and we are proud to show off our spirited hues! The halls were vibrant with eye-popping color and creativity.

Beasley friends rounded out their week with a pep rally parade right down the main hall, cheering and offering high fives and good luck to varsity athletes.

Middle Schoolers celebrated Spirit Week with a pep rally of their own this afternoon.

Even the campus got into the spirit! Check out these spirit-filled messages.

The week was a great way to kick off a fun weekend filled with family-friendly activities. Go Rams!
